Confession: my name is Amanda Shahmoon and when it comes to nutrition I have tried it all.

I was the girl that would go to a restaurant and quickly become the waiters worst nightmare. I would request a rice-less risotto whilst I was on The Atkins Diet, and the House Salad juiced whilst I was Detoxing.

I bought into every fad going, and even created my own... The Sugar Diet - where I gave up on real food altogether, and just lived off sweets, chocolate, ice-cream, and cake. I eventually became too lazy to diet when I got to University, and just lived off cereal and Tesco Kilo bags of pasta (How Did I End Up Here?)

After a long and exhausting journey, I've come to realise that when it comes to nutrition, one principle trumps them all: Live off kale... Just kidding, that would be hell.

Keep It Simple.

It might sound obvious but in a world filled with celebrity diet fads, deceptive food labeling, and unhealthy extremes - I believe it's important to get back to basics. I am studying the Nutritional Therapist Diploma course at The College of Naturopathic Medicine, and regularly attend courses/workshops on various aspects of nutrition.

That's why I've set up this blog! It is essentially my online record of everything I learn as I continue to educate myself, which I hope will help and inspire others to do the same.

I would love to hear from you, please get in touch!
