Lacking the motivation to exercise?

Coffee

I love a pre-workout coffee. If I have the time, I blend filter coffee with a little hot almond milk, and a scoop of chocolate protein powder (Nuzest is my favourite: https://www.nuzest.co.uk/pea-protein-powder/) in my vitamix for 10 seconds.

Think – a protein mocha.

Alternatively, an espresso (or double!) from Costa would do the trick.

Playlist

The power of a good playlist. It really makes all the difference!

Spotify – the options are endless… I can listen to a throwback Britney album, my mum’s cheesy playlist, or my own motivation mix.

Wireless earphones/ headphones

The biggest game changer, and hands down my best purchase of 2017. I can run, jump, skip, and crunch in these and they stay in place!

(I love the Apple Airpods: https://www.apple.com/uk/airpods/)

Fresh air

When I am not feeling a sweaty gym session I like to go for a short brisk walk/ jog or even just a stroll. Best case – it wakes me up and I come back fresh and ready to workout.

Worst case – I’ve got a good walk in. Point is, it’s a total win-win situation.

Phone a friend

Productive socialising – I like going for a walk with a friend, chatting and catching up. The time flies by and the step count goes up. I also like to book a fun class with a friend, that way I’m held accountable so actually have to turn up, as opposed to ‘accidentally’ oversleeping.

Go shopping!

This is definitely a costly method, but when I buy new gym gear I’m much more motivated to put it to use!
